Rock Royalty Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore to Divorce - What Happens To Shoeg-Indie-Grunge?

Just what the ging-gang-goolie is going on here? Rock n Roll legends Kim Gordon and Thurston Moore of arguably the worlds first saleable grunge band Sonic Youth, have announced plans to divorce.

First Jack White/Karen Elson, now Kim n Thurst. I have to say, this is particularly saddening as these two for me have always been proof that dirty shoegazers have hearts.

But the question is: Where does this leave Sonic Youth? And, where does this leave the entire genre of post2kgeneration shoeg-indie-grunge now that its mammy and pappy have decided to call it quits after 27 years? (With most deciding to live with Thurst I suspect, and only whats left of the Riot grrls keeping Kim close by.)

Ahhh well, just another frame on the wall in the 27club I suppose =(
